STATEMENT ON BEHALF OF ST ANDREW'S CHRISTIAN SCHOOL

Thursday November 11, 2010

St Andrew’s Christian School in Grafton has noted the sentencing of former principal Frank Bailey. Mr Bailey was sentenced in Sydney today for crimes committed in his home against a girl under his care.

School spokesman Wayne Richards said the School continued to extend its profound concern and support for the suffering he has caused.

In respect of recent newspaper statements, Mr Richards commented, “We are unable to contribute to any public debate while matters are before the court. We are also concerned not to participate in media activity which adds to people’s distress, including innocent students, school staff, their families and friends.

The school continues to provide high standards of education and support to its student body in a protective and caring environment.”
